Women Who Watch

” Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” Matthew 24:42
Women know how to keep watch and keeping watch is a preparation for the next thing.
Babies grow up.
Teenagers are late.
Meals are prepared.
Sickness comes.
Schedules demand.
Seasons change.

LIFE is a watch
God has allowed women a nurturing instinct which is intuitive about what is coming.
Pilate’s wife had it.
She had a dream and earnestly tried to intervene.
In fact she sent him a message while he was sitting on the judge’s seat.
Don’t have anything to do with that innocent man. I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.” Matthew 27:19
She was a part of the Easter Watch, but did not know it.
So are we.
The world changed that day forever as the Son of God was crucified for the SIN of all people.
Darkness fell, the earth shook with an earthquake and Jesus died.
Women were watching.
They had follwed from a distance….to care for his needs… Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.” Matthew 27:56
Women were watching when his body was placed in the tomb.
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting opposite the tomb” Matthew 27:61

They were watching on Resurrection Morning as they came to look for him and an angel appeared and said. “He is not here. He is risen. Come and see.. Go quickly and tell the disciples..He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you in Galilee. There you will see him.” Matthew 28:6-7

They ran to tell his disciples and met Jesus.
Women who watch encounter
In this case it was the Living God who had been watching over them.
That’s what He does. Deuteronomy 11:12

Your life is on watch.
So is mine.

HE IS RISEN!
HE’S Alive!
HE WAS THEN AND HE IS TODAY!

WATCH FOR HIM.

I am reminded of this today…to be ever diligent, on obeying God, ever watchful and alert to his will, his coming…as yesterday, a young man, younger than my husband and I, dropped dead of a heart attack at work. It really shook my husband up, as he knew him and he was so young. Be ready each day…one day you may go to work, as this young man did and not return home, to your loved ones. Be steadfast in your walk, ever diligent in obedience.
